I.                    The Grapes of Wrath was by far the most depressing film weve seen this far. Its all about family values, and never forgetting were you come from. The joads are force to pack everything and just up and leave to california, after the government chose to knock down their home. This not only just happened to them but to their whole town seemingly. We didn’t talk much about the movie since it is such a long film, but we did discuss how it has a powerful message.  This movie is no laughing matter as multiple crimes are commited and you see the poverty these people lived in with 10 people living in one home then all of them getting in one car to leave Oklahoma and all they had built there.
The article deals with john fords grandson and how for the most part he is the one incharge for John Ford biography. He feels like it is his job to document his grandfathers life and times and no one else. He feels like he has the rights knowing him personally and being a relative of his. Mr. Fords Grandson is very unhappy with a novel written about his late grandfather and the review of it, going as far as calling

the book a “gothic novel that pretends to be a biography.” He is clearly upset with the way his grandfather is portrayed. I agree with his feelings but at the same time he has to accept the fact that hes not the only one that can write about his grand father perhaps the greatest movie director to ever live.
III.                In the movie we saw great family values did we not? These people stuck together thru thick and thin and that is what john fords grand son is doing for him. Hes sticking with him as someone is trying to make inaccurate writing on his life and times. Firing shots left and right doing whatever he feels is necessary to clear and hold up his late grandfathers name.
IV.                In all even though I did not enjoy watching this movie I can truly say it was a good movie. I didn’t like the movie because it was heartbreaking, sad and depressing, plus the fact that is was black and white wasn’t helping at all either. I think that just made it even more sad. I definitely can relate to the joads and everything they went thru. Also there was minimum 3 murders in the movie. However it shocked me that they had parole all the way back then as the main character got let out of jail through parole even though his whole family seems to think he escaped. The suspense was crazy in the beginning tom gets a ride from a truck driver then reveals he was in jail for a homicide at this point im thinking ok is this going to be a horror flick or was that just a joke, I couldn’t believe the main character in a movie could commit a murder and still be liked.
